Multi-use Trail

 Heritage Trail
7 miles long
Stretches from downtown Hilliard almost to Plain City

This is a cooperation venture between Metro Parks and Hilliard Parks and Recreation Department. What was once a railroad right-of-way is now a multi-use trail. Metro Parks' section of the trail is 3.5 miles long, starting at Hayden Run Road Trailhead (parking area) and travels northwest to Cemetery Pike in Madison County.

Heritage Trail also offers
  • Trail is paved, 12' wide with a center stripe
  • Hayden Run Trailhead has 74 parking spaces
  • Additional gravel parking for horse trailers
  • Two and half miles northwest of Hilliard along the trail you will find The Homestead, a
public park operated by Washington Township. This park contains many special
play areas for children such as a water fort and toddler play area as well as basketball
and sand volleyball for those interested in active recreation.
