Revenues
Metro Parks receives most of its revenue from the generosity of Franklin County residents through their support of our tax levy. State funding, grants, user fees and donations also make up critical parts of our funding. Importantly, Metro Parks carries no debt, but rather earns interest on its bank deposits, which aids the core mission of maintaining and expanding high quality parks and programs.
Expenses
Metro Parks primary expenses are the salaries and benefits costs of our dedicated employees along with capital and land acquisition dollars to improve and expand our park offerings. Our staff of rangers and other personnel are in the parks every day, providing for wonderful outdoor experiences at a low cost. Metro Parks also plays a key role in providing essential habitat for many species of wildlife, while protecting the environment.
