Connecting Kids & Families With Nature

For more than 70 years, Metro Parks has been connecting kids and families with nature. Whether you come to the park for a picnic, attend a butterfly program or just paddle downstream, we aim to instill a love of nature in kids and help families learn how to play outside like their parents and grandparents did.

There are hundreds of miles of trails to take the kids on hike or bike ride while watching nature up close. Try a game of disc golf, challenge the kids on the obstacle course or spend a night outside at the overnight backpack camping. Best yet, spend the day at one of the natural play areas where the only rule is “There are no rules” and you and your kids can make up your own games while freely exploring the surrounding woods and fields.

Not sure what you
want to explore?

Not a problem. Metro Parks offers many events, programs and activities that allow you to explore your options and build your outdoor skills. Annually, we offer more the 3,100 free programs.
