Hear ye, hear ye! Prepare thyself for the 2nd annual Archery Fest and tournaments!
In May of 2024 Outdoor Adventure held the very first Archery Fest. Approximately 200 adventurers visited Darby Bend Lakes in Prairie Oaks Metro Park seeking merriment and glory. The festival offered an assortment of free DIY crafts such as flower crowns and arrow quivers. Food and drink was available from A Cut Above Schnitzel & More and Graeter’s ice cream trucks. Adventurers were able to test their skill at axe throwing, atlatl spearing and of course, archery. Would be champions were able to practice and hone their skills before the big tourney at Try It! Archery stations.
Two archery tournaments were held, one for youth and one for adults. Sixty four valiant archers entered the tourneys, but only two could be crowned champions.
Archery Fest 2025 promises to be bigger and better: A Cut Above Schnitzel & More food truck will be making their return, this time joined by Cheesecake Perfection. The DIY market will offer even more free projects including family crests. Join the King and Queen of Archery Fest for a knighting ceremony and become a guardian of the realm! Jump on into the Queen’s bouncy castle for some royal fun!
It wouldn’t be an Archery Fest without archery! Whether you are a novice or a seasoned warrior practicing before the big tourney, be sure to hit the Try it! Archery range. We will host two archery tournaments again. One for children ages 8-15 and one for adults. Be sure to sign up for the tournaments upon arrival as spots go quickly. This year’s tournament champions will take home a crown and a prize bow!
So join us this National Archery Day, Saturday May 10, 2025 12 noon to 3pm, at Prairie Oaks’ Darby Bend Lakes. Glory is there for the taking, adventurers!
