Savor summer in your Metro Parks

Act quickly and enjoy every moment left of summer before it’s gone.  Below are a few things to do in your Metro Parks before fall arrives in late September.

Head to SciotoFest, a free multi-day event featuring live bands, climbing, competitions, a beer garden and much more. The event will be held Sept. 12–15, 2019 at Scioto Audubon Metro Park. Click here to see a complete list of events.

Grab your binoculars and head out to Blendon Woods or Pickerington Ponds. Songbird migration peaks during September. Warblers, thrushes, vireos and flycatchers are passing through as they head toward their wintering grounds. Hawks and shorebirds are just beginning their fall migration during this time of year. Look for shorebirds at Pickerington Ponds and warblers and other neo-tropical birds at Blendon Woods.

Connect with nature as you canoe the lake under a full moon, learn the ropes as you scale a 35-foot high climbing wall or take part in one of the many programs offered through Metro Parks’ Outdoor Adventure. Check out more programs here.
