Top Five Things You Should Know about Friends of Metro Parks

MELISSA MEYER
Development Assistant, Friends of Metro Parks

1: Friends is a true nonprofit

Friends of Metro Parks is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization, which means that we receive all of our funding from external organizations, donors, and grants, not from taxpayer dollars through the Columbus & Franklin County Metro Parks levy. In addition, it has its own Board of Directors, which you can learn about here.

2: Anyone can be a Friend

Memberships are available starting at $10 and end at $250 with various levels in between for exclusive access and members-only VIP events. However, anyone can receive Friends of Metro Parks updates through our free monthly e-newsletter with just an email address. Sign up today.

3: Friends has its own unique website

Become a member, renew your membership, donate online or buy Friends of Metro Parks merch at metroparksfriends.org.

4: Friends-Only Events

When you become a member of Friends of Metro Parks, you sign yourself up for special access to behind-the-scenes events and sneak previews of new parks and projects. This year we are starting a “hidden gems” series just for Friends of Metro Parks! Keep an eye out for emails to get exclusive access to these events.

5: Let Friends partner with you!

Friends of Metro Parks loves to partner with other nonprofits and our community to bring new people into the Metro Parks and teach them about the amazing resources available to them.  We also have volunteer opportunities available for events throughout the year which is a great way to give back.
